Information in this document is subject to change and update and you are advised to look for a more recent version – 28-Jan-08This rider forms part of the contract with the venue. Problems arising from, or queries about, details herein should be referred to our Technical Manager as early as possible.
Licensing
Smoke and haze are used throughout the performance and smoke detection systems should be configured accordingly. There will be sudden, loud sound and flashing lights but not strobes. There will be no live flame, smoking or firearms. A props sword with blunt edges is used on stage.
Vehicles
Only one Merc Sprinter van
Touring Company:
Actor: Edward Morris
Stage Manager: Louise Turner or Patrick Ryan
Touring Electrician: Iain MacDenzie-Humphreys
Director: Nick Hennegan (at some venues)
Stage
The stage must have a minimum playing area upstage of the prosc of 7m x 7m. Ideally it will be a little larger than this. Minimum grid height is 5.5m. We need the stage floor to be level, clean and tidy.
There are no flown items to the set and we will not be using house tabs.
The set consists of small, toured rostra at various heights, two small flats and a throne.
We need your black masking, legs or flats, with borders only as necessary. We have no objection to lanterns and lx spot bars being in full view. We need full blacks upstage unless your back wall is black.
Lighting
A detailed LX plan and hanging plot will be supplied as soon as possible.
Control positions should have open acoustics and a good view of the whole stage. Lighting will be operated from the sound position.
We need you to supply all generic lanterns, cable and dimmers.
We are touring a lighting desk (one universe of DMX 512) to control your dimmers. It can output D54 instead of DMX but then we’d lose the moving lights.
We are touring two Mac 250 moving lights which must have independent power and be controlled by our lighting desk via DMX lines.
We are touring a small hazer, smoke machine and fan but, if you have something better available, we may ask to use yours.
Anything you can do in the way of pre-rigging would gain our appreciation.
Sound
The show sound is largely music and FX playback. The soundtrack is on a toured laptop (running SCS Sound Cue System) that must feed into your PA. We carry leads to phono or 1/4-inch jacks. Please advise if further adaptors will be necessary.
There is also a toured UHF radio mic and receiver, used for occasional vocal FX, which should be fed into your sound desk.
We require a sound mixing position at the rear of the auditorium (never behind glass) with a good view of the stage and with open acoustics.
We require a good quality stereo PA system suitable for the size of venue providing loud, clear sound reproduction, free of hiss and distortion, to every part of the auditorium.
Two monitor speakers in the wings would be nice but not a requirement.
Comms & Cue Lights
Comms will be required at the prompt desk (with a long lead) and at both the sound & lighting control positions.
Cue lights are not required.
Wardrobe
Wardrobe assistance is not required though access to washing and drying facilities may be. We would appreciate an iron and ironing board.
